The seat (SI) has a backrest (DS) comprising a reinforcement (A1) at which a side flange (F1) with a hole (TF) is secured. The flange has an opening (O) in the vicinity of hole. A shaped rod (TC) includes a main part housed in a hollow rear transverse tube (TT) and is prolonged by an end that is retained in a shaped zone of the transverse tube. The main part has another end (E22) folded outside of the tube close to the side flange. The latter end of the main part traverses the opening so as to be retained under stress by the side flange and to initiate recovery or folding of base (AS).
