Mapping scene geometry from wide field of view image onto narrow field of view image

An image processing system and method comprising a first video camera with a first field of view (FOV) 100B and a second video camera with a second field of view 100A narrower than that of the first video camera, the second camera being operable to capture images substantially at the same time as the first camera. The first video camera and the second video camera are arranged in a pair having a pre-set relative positional relationship to each other. An image processing unit maps scene geometry (such as markings on a football pitch) for a known scene onto the images captured by the first video camera and then further maps at least part of the scene geometry onto the images captured by the second video camera according to the pre-set physical relation of the first and second video cameras and their respective fields of view.
