A contact lens 10 is provided with a light source 25, such as an LED, providing light which is adjusted or scanned into an area of a retina 40 of a wearer, rendering or producing an image on the retina 40. The light may be steered or scanned by an electro-active prism (65, fig 4) controlled by a controller (70, fig 4).
