An image processing apparatus comprises: an image obtaining apparatus that obtains a tomograpnic image 1005 of a subject's eye; a detection unit that detects and extracts a cribrosa lamina from the tomographic image; and a display control unit (300, fig. 1) that controls a display means 600 to display a display form showing a shape of the extracted lamina cribrosa. Preferably the shape of the lamina cribrosa is analyzed and its analysis result presented at a high visibility. Preferably the display form is a 2-dimensional bowing angle map 1012 superimposed onto the tomographic image and a fundus image 603.
