Mobile phone holder with optimally positionable inductive charging coil

A holder 1 for a mobile telephone comprises at least one telephone charging coil 8 and an accommodation device with a contact surface 2 for accommodating the mobile telephone. The holder has a positioning device such that the charging coil may be put in at least two different positions by the positioning device relative to the mobile telephone that is in the accommodation device. The positioning device may comprise an arrangement for sliding the charging coil into at least two different positions along a plane or may comprise holding elements 4 which are capable of holding the telephone in different positions relative to the charging coil. The holder may monitor how efficiently the telephone is being charged and may provide feedback to the user (eg audible beeps of variable interval) to facilitate optimum positioning of the phones coil relative to the charging coil. A signal may be emitted if the accommodation device is in a hold position but there is no phone in it. Under such condition power to the charging coil may be interrupted.
