Combined tailpiece and armrest for a bouzouki stringed musical instrument

A tailpiece with integrated armrest is disclosed, which is suitable for use with the following Greek stringed musical instruments: a Bouzouki; a String Tzoura; a String Baglama. It is also suitable for use with a String Irish Bouzouki. The device slides into a standard tailpiece string base attachment, covering the strings over the soundboard at the point of their attachment. The armrest provides a more comfortable playing position for a user and avoids contact between the users arm and the body of the instrument. The armrest therefore minimises wear and tear of the instrument body and also prevents the users arm from affecting the acoustic volume and tone while playing. The combined tailpiece and armrest may be height adjustable and can be constructed from metal polished chrome, metal polished brass, titanium, carbon fibre, wood and/or metal. A leather cover and soft padding may be provided and the armrest can be constructed for left and right handed players.
