PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection engagement/connection disengagement method for an automatic carrier and a transportation dolly, the method preventing damage to a power transmission part caused by excessive force applied to a connection device of the automatic carrier traveling with the transportation dolly in tow, the excessive force due to a drastic change in a traveling surface.;SOLUTION: During transport-traveling of a transportation dolly towed by an automatic carrier, a given magnitude of rotary excitation force is applied by rotary excitation means to a towing arm 40 in a normal connection engagement direction toward an engagement member, and, if force exceeding a given magnitude is applied to the towing arm 40 of a connection device 30 due to a change in a traveling surface of the automatic carrier during the transport-traveling, an excessive magnitude of load transmitted to an arm drive motor 45 or its power transmission means is avoided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
