PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a cylindrical strainer which exhibits high slit precision and discharges a fluid from the inside to the outside.;SOLUTION: A wire 2 is spirally wound around a plurality of support rods 3 arranged circumferentially to structure the cylindrical strainer which separates a solid from a fluid by discharging the fluid containing the solid from the inside to the outside. A contact with the support rod 3 is spot-welded by an electrode 4 pressed to the opposite side to the contact in winding the wire 2 around the support rods 3. A cross sectional shape of the wire 2 includes: a flat part 20 formed flatly to contact with the electrode 4 on one end side; a protruded part 21 formed in a tapered shape for spot-welding to the support rod 3 on the other end side; and a maximum width part 22 having a maximum width between the flat part 20 and the protruded part 21.
