PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure diagnostic device for a brake system and a failure diagnostic method for a brake system capable of diagnosing a failure in a brake system in any situation.;SOLUTION: A failure diagnostic device for a brake system includes: an ECU 24 for determining the normality of a function of an electrically-driven vacuum pump 18 on the basis of the detection result of at least one of a negative pressure sensor 16 for detecting the pressure in a suction chamber of a brake booster 12 and a shunt resistor 28 for detecting a driving current value of the electrically-driven vacuum pump 18 and the detection result of pressure detecting means 26 for detecting the pressure in piping on a discharge port 18b side of the electrically-driven vacuum pump 18.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
