WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD AND WLAN FOR SIGNALING DEFERRAL MANAGEMENT MESSAGES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve problems that a hidden node situation would arise in a wireless LAN, resulting in degraded capacity, and that hidden nodes phenomena across BSSs may also occur, and that, for the optimization to work properly, coordination and adjustment between the WTRUs are needed to allow gathering all the required information at the node making the decision on the setting of the deferral parameters.;SOLUTION: A deferral management method is implemented in a wireless local area network (WLAN) including an access point (AP) and a plurality of wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs). The AP sends a deferral management capabilities request message to the WTRUs to determine the deferral management capabilities of the WTRUs. In response, each of the WTRUs sends a deferral management capabilities indicator message to the AP. The AP may also send a deferral management parameter set message to the WTRUs to indicate values for setting deferral management parameters.
