PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather radar device capable of accurately observing the center part of a cumulonimbus cloud with high density even when observing according to an observation sequence.SOLUTION: The weather radar device includes an antenna unit, a signal processor, a data conversion unit, a prediction unit, a condition determination unit and a radar controller. The signal processor calculates a reception intensity, a Doppler speed and a speed width on the basis of a reflection pulse received by the antenna unit. The data conversion unit calculates precipitation intensity data on the basis of the reception intensity and calculates wind direction and speed data on the basis of the Doppler speed and the speed width. The prediction unit prepares prediction data on the basis of the precipitation intensity data and the wind direction and speed data. The condition determination unit compares the prediction data with a prescribed threshold and prepares an observation sequence in such a manner as to allocate to an observation of a region corresponding to data which exceeds the threshold at least any of observations of regions outside the region. The radar controller controls the antenna unit, following the observation sequence.
