FLUOROPOLYMER-BASED EMULSION FOR INTRAVENOUS DELIVERY OF VOLATILE FLUORIDATED ANESTHETIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic formulation such as therapeutic emulsion and nano emulsion, and a relevant method for delivery of a therapeutic fluoridated compound such as an important class of per-fluoridated and/or per-halogenated volatile anesthetic with a low boiling point.SOLUTION: An emulsion-based volatile fluoridated anesthetic formulation suitable for intravenous administration allows delivery and release of a volatile fluoridated anesthetic compound in an amount effective for introduction and maintenance of an anesthesia in a patient. By intravenous delivery of the emulsion-based volatile fluoridated anesthetic formulation, the in vivo anesthesia level in a patient can be selectively modulated very rapidly and accurately without needing to give excessive ventilation to the patient or without using a stimulus agent. A therapeutic formulation comprises a semi-fluoridated block polymer having a hydrophilic block and a pro-fluoro block, a therapeutic fluoridated compound, a stabilization additive agent, and an aqueous solution.
