PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover metals contained in non-cracked residue.SOLUTION: A hydrocracking method includes a step of adding an additive consisting of coke particles of grain sizes of 0.1-2,000 m to a heavy raw material containing at least one raw material metal selected from vanadium and nickel to form an additive/raw material mixture, a step of mixing the additive/raw material with a catalyst emulsion containing at least one metal of the groups 8 to 10 and at least one metal of the group 6 in a water phase of a water-oil type emulsion to form a catalyst/raw material mixture, a step of adding hydrogen to the catalyst/raw material mixture to form a reaction mixture, a step of supplying the reaction mixture to a hydrocracking region of an upward flow bubble column reactor under hydrocracking conditions through a heater to form a solid carbon type material containing the additive capturing the metals of the groups 8 to 10, the metals of the group 6 and at least one raw material metal and a reformed hydrocarbon product in the upward flow bubble column reactor and a step of carrying the solid carbon type material capturing the metals from the upward flow bubble column reactor to a metal recovery unit.
