PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for obtaining high purity ethylene carbonate from low purity ethylene carbonate which is easy to scale up, can operate easily and efficiently at low cost, and is at low risk of troubles such as clogging, with respect to a process for purifying ethylene carbonate, a process for producing ethylene carbonate, and a crystallizer for purifying ethylene carbonate.;SOLUTION: The process for purifying ethylene carbonate is a crystallization method of wall surface falling type which deposits ethylene carbonate crystals on a wall surface of the crystallizer by controlling feed rate of crude liquid to the crystallizer. The process for producing ethylene carbonate comprises feeding a reaction liquid obtained by reaction of ethylene oxide and carbonic acid gas to the crystallizer, and depositing the ethylene carbonate crystals on a wall surface of the crystallizer by controlling feed rate of the reaction liquid to the crystallizer. The crystallizer for purifying ethylene carbonate by the wall surface falling type crystallization method can control feed rate of crude liquid to the crystallizer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
