PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel consumption calculating method eliminating influence of a vehicle running condition, a fuel consumption comparing method for comparing fuel consumptions based on different types of tires in which an influence under the running condition, and a tire selection method for selecting tire in which the fuel consumption is reduced.;SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a fuel consumption calculating method for calculating a fuel consumption of a vehicle on the basis of its actual travel, vehicle travel condition measuring means comprises the steps of: vehicle travel condition measuring in elapsing a fuel consumption and at least one characteristic value indicating vehicle travel conditions including at least travel distance in regard to a vehicle practically running; running condition comparing means compares a characteristic value measured by the vehicle running condition measuring step with a prescribed vehicle running condition to extract a time zone in which the vehicle runs where the characteristic value coincides with the running condition, and the fuel consumption means includes: calculating fuel consumption to calculate the fuel consumption of the vehicle on the basis of the fuel consumption only in the time zone extracted at the running distance comparing step and the running distance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
