BOX-TYPE CONTAINER STORING RADIOACTIVE WASTE, BOX-TYPE STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box-type container excellent in strength and radiation shield capability for storing radioactive waste, a box-type structure and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A container body and a lid of the box-type container are made of sulfur concrete prepared by mixing compounds including 30 wt.% sulfur, 30 wt.% blast furnace slag, 30 wt.% incinerated ash and 10 wt.% solidification agent such as dicyclopentadiene or barium sulfate containing metal powder of tungsten or lead, heating, melting and putting the material into frames, and then cooling and solidifying it. The box-type structure has front, rear, right, and left walls, a ceiling and a bottom structured of rectangular panels made of the sulfur concrete and steal products composed of columns and frames supporting the rectangular panels.
