PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an experiment device for small animals capable of flexibly dealing with a cognition task using visual stimulation and tactile stimulation.SOLUTION: The experiment device for small animals includes a central shaft 19 journaled to a rotation center of a running wheel 12; a slide rotation body 13 that has two side plates 14 loosely fitted to the central shaft at both outsides in a direction of the central shaft 19 with respect to the running wheel 12, and a connection body 15 provided between the side plates 14, and on which at least two types of textures 15a and 15b are provided on the connection body 15 from one side plate 14a to the other side plate 14b; a slide frame 16 for sliding the slide rotation body 13 along the direction of the central shaft 19; an air cylinder 11 capable of driving the slide frame 16; and an encoder 55 for measuring the rotation speed of the running wheel 12. The air cylinder 11 drives the slide frame 16 to slide the slide rotation body 13 via the slide frame 16 and press the side plate 14 toward the running wheel 12.
