PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine defective discharge with high accuracy and at high speed depending on an image.;SOLUTION: An image recording apparatus includes movement means for relatively moving a liquid discharge head including a plurality of nozzles for discharging liquid and a recording medium, control means for performing recording on the recording medium by discharging the liquid from the plurality of nozzles while relatively moving the liquid discharge head and the recording medium, test chart data generation means for generating test chart data based on image data, test chart recording means for recording a test chart on the recording medium by the control means based on the test chart data, read data acquisition means for acquiring read data of the recorded test chart, and defect detection means for detecting the discharge-defective nozzle by analyzing the read data of the test chart.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
