PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improvement agent for FD (functional dyspepsia), particularly upper abdomen discomfort such as nausea caused by deterioration in gastric emptying ability due to stress.;SOLUTION: The functional dyspepsia improvement agent is provided which contains, as an active ingredient, an azulene derivative represented by the general formula (I) (in the formula (I), R¹ represents an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 6 and R² and R³ each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 6).
