PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation device and an evaluation method capable of non-destructively and accurately measuring ultraviolet absorption intensity of an ultraviolet ray absorber added to an article for the purpose of improving weatherproofness.;SOLUTION: Provided is a degradation acceleration device for an ultraviolet ray absorber, including: a light source part configured to emit light of a wavelength of an ultraviolet ray region; a sample cell part configured to be irradiated with the light; and a detection part configured to detect intensity of light having penetrated the sample cell part.
