PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regulation mechanism of cover opening of an image forming apparatus including a cover openable and closable with respect to an apparatus body and using a string-like member to regulate the opening of the cover, and to alleviate the impact associated with the opening regulation without preventing a reduction in size of the apparatus.;SOLUTION: A regulation mechanism of cover opening of an image forming apparatus includes a string-like member 10 that has one end 10a fixed to an apparatus body-side support part 9a and the other end 10b fixed to a cover-side support part 9b, drawing means 18 for drawing the string-like member 10 toward the apparatus body side, and a guide block 120 that has a passage 20a for guiding the movement of the string-like member 10 at the opening and closing of a cover 8 and a regulating part 20b for regulating the movement of the string-like member 10. The guide block 120 has speed reduction means 26 provided therein for reducing the speed of movement of the string-like member 10 until a protrusion 10c provided on the string-like member 10 is brought into contact with the regulating part 20b of the guide block 120 and the movement of the string-like member 10 is regulated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
