PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductor having lightness, flexibility, high tensile strength, and high conductivity, and an electric wire using the conductor.;SOLUTION: In the conductor wherein metal plating treatment is applied to the periphery of a high strength organic synthetic fiber with tensile strength of 7 cN/dtex or more and a filament bundle of the high strength organic synthetic fibers wherein metal plating layers are formed is twisted, the number T (times/m) of stranding is at a range of 50≤T≤150.
