PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a license plate recognition device, capable of reducing degradation of recognition accuracy even if an imaging condition is deteriorated in a specific camera. PSOLUTION: The device comprises a plurality of cameras which images a license plate of an approaching vehicle; a first character string recognition part which recognizes, for each camera, a character string of the license plate from an imaging result taken by each camera of the plurality of cameras; and a second character string recognition part which refers to a plurality of recognition results obtained from the imaging results of different cameras of the plurality of cameras based on the recognition result obtained by the first character string recognition part to complements complement the character strings obtained from the plurality of recognition results, and outputs a resulting character string as a recognition result.
