PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solidification completed position estimating method and a solidification completed position estimating apparatus of a continuous casting cast piece, capable of accurately estimating the solidification completed position of the continuous casting cast piece, with a structure having good durability.;SOLUTION: A section temperature distribution of a cast piece 4 just after being extracted from a continuous casting machine 1 and cut by a torch car 5 is directly measured without contact by a two-dimensional radiation thermometer 11. Also, a section peak temperature Tp is calculated from a measured slab section temperature distribution, and a solidification completed position P is estimated based on the calculated section peak temperature Tp.
