PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear mechanism which includes a worm wheel that uses a high strength organic fiber generating less sliding noise without damaging the worm, with the content of the fiber being suppressed for a lower material cost, with strength being enhanced, and which is silent and excellent in reliability, and further to provide an electric power steering device equipped with such reduction gear mechanism.;SOLUTION: On an outer periphery of a metal core tube of the electric power steering device, a reduction gear mechanism is incorporated which includes a gear that is made of resin composition containing an organic fiber material whose tensile strength is 2 GPa or higher and tensile elasticity being 50 GPa or higher by 10-25 mass % against the entire amount of resin composition, and a needle-like packing material whose Mohs hardness is 4 or lower by 5-20 mass %, and is integrated with a resin part forming gear teeth.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
