PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for relaying data communication between wireless LAN communication widespread in the society and specific small power radio communication with smaller power consumption and longer communication distance.SOLUTION: A relay system 100 comprises an IEEE802.15.4 standard communication unit functioning as a coordinator and an IEEE802.11 standard communication unit functioning as a station, and makes one communication device virtually exist on another communication standard network by making connection established at an IEEE802.15.4 standard side correspond to connection established at an IEEE802.11 standard side by use of a method for switching the MAC address of itself. If the relay system 100 is installed between wireless LAN communication devices 10-13 for communicating in accordance with the IEEE802.11 standard and communication devices 1-5, such as a sensor, for communicating in accordance with the IEEE802.15.4 standard, communication devices in accordance with different communication standards can communicate with each other as if they were the same standard communication devices, and each radio communication device does not require special remodeling or development.
