RFID TAG READER, AND RFID TAG DIRECTION ESTIMATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID tag reader which allows an increase in the number of RFID tags of which the directions can be estimated within a certain time, while suppressing reduction in accuracy of direction estimation.;SOLUTION: Since pattern A reception processing where directivities of a variable directional antenna are limited to 6 directions being a half of all directions (12 directions) is performed (S4 and S5), reception processing is terminated in a short time. A direction in which an RFID tag 200 exists is determined by RSSI values in 6 directions acquired by the pattern A reception processing (S6). Thereafter, pattern B reception processing of setting the remaining directivities not set in the pattern A reception processing to receive a radio wave from the RFID tag 200 (S9 and S10) is performed. The direction of the RFID tag 200 is determined by using RSSI values in 12 directions acquired by the pattern A reception processing and the pattern B reception processing (S11), so that reduction in accuracy of direction estimation can be suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
