PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for plugging rectum of a dead body to prevent postmortem materials in the rectum from leaking out.;SOLUTION: The rectum plugging device 1 includes a seal member 2 and an insert member for inserting the seal member 2 into the rectum from the anus of the dead body. The seal member 2 is configured to expand in the rectum. The insert member includes: a plastic-made cylindrical member 3 with a tip end part to be inserted into the anus of the dead body and accommodates the seal member 2 therein; a pushing member 7 disposed slidably in the axial direction of the cylinder in the cylindrical member 3 and disposed at one end part of the seal member 2 in the cylindrical member 3; and a rod member 10 provided at a side of the pushing member 7 opposite to the side facing the seal member 2, and moving the pushing member 7 in the axial direction of the cylindrical member 3. A stopper for regulating the insertion distance of the cylindrical member 3 into the rectum to a predetermined distance, is provided in the outer peripheral surface side of an intermediate part in the axial direction of the cylindrical member 3, so that the stopper protrudes outward in the radial direction of the cylindrical member 3 to abut on the anus from outside thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
