METHOD OF MANUFACTURING cBN GRINDING TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cBN grinding tool having a cBN sintered body provided at a corner of a base metal, which can significantly improve precision in core height and sufficiently reduce an inclination angle and width of a negative land.SOLUTION: A cBN grinding tool is held by pinching a base metal of the tool using a chuck of a grinder capable of controlling position and posture. Under this condition, a cBN sintered body is pressed against an end surface of a grind stone of the grinder to grind a flank and a cutting face formed on the cBN sintered body. The grinding is performed in a manner in which a substantial grinding object is the cBN sintered body and, in grinding the cutting face, only a cBN baked body which has fallen from an upper surface of the base metal or has popped out of the base metal cutting face is ground. The above stated works are performed without releasing the holding state of the tool by the chuck.
