PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting unknown active ingredients contained in chestnut bark and leaves although the practical use of ingredients contained in the astringent coat of a chestnut and active on human bodies is known.SOLUTION: Refined flour of astringent coat with chestnut flesh containing more active ingredients than before can be produced by a method of soaking dried chestnut astringent coat in an aqueous solution that contains active ingredients extracted by boiling chestnut barks and leaves in a pot. A secondary processed product containing refined flour of astringent coat with chestnut flesh of higher functionality can thereby be produced.
