METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PALM KERNEL SHELL CHARCOAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing palm kernel shell charcoal (PKS charcoal) that can be used as a charcoal material for steel manufacture in a blast furnace and a sintering machine or the like, and in which a volatile component is low and combustibility is good.SOLUTION: A PKS 3 having moisture of at most 5% is fed from an end of a pilot light 2 side of an internal combustion type rotary kiln 1, air of 0.5-1.6 times of an amount by a mass ratio to the fed PKS is supplied into the rotary kiln, thereby the PKS is subjected to carbonization-dry distillation processing, and a carbonized product (PKS charcoal 4) and a dry distilled gas 5 are exhausted from an end of the other side of the pilot light side of the rotary kiln. It is preferable that the PKS having moisture at least 15% and the discharged dry distilled gas of the rotary kiln 1 for carbonization and dry distillation are fed from the same end of a rotary kiln 8 for drying, and are exhausted from the end on the other side.
