PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regeneration method of nitric acid activation treatment solution which can reduce the disposal of nitric acid as much as possible by precipitating and removing zinc ions mixed into the nitric acid activation treatment solution through a process of zinc plating of steel and controlling the quality of trivalent chromium conversion treatment at a predetermined level by the simplification and cost reduction of a plating control step, instead of a method of exchanging the whole quantity of the nitric acid activation treatment solution after a predetermined time lapse, the method having been widely performed in the zinc plating of steel.SOLUTION: There is provided a regeneration method of nitric acid activation treatment solution for a zinc plating metal member surface. The method includes adding a zinc ion coagulant to the nitric acid activation treatment solution containing zinc ions to coagulate the zinc ions in the solution as an insoluble salt to separate and remove the same.
