PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED illumination system free from heat generation or damage when a straight-tube fluorescent lamp is mistakenly mounted on an illumination fixture for straight-tube fluorescent lamp where a fluorescent lamp stabilizer is replaced with a lighting device for LED.;SOLUTION: An LED illumination system connects an LED lamp with an existing socket by installing a lighting device for LED on an illumination fixture for an existing straight-tube fluorescent lamp. Characteristics of output from the lighting device for LED connected across terminals A of one of both ends of the LED lamp are to be different from characteristics of output of a lighting device for the existing fluorescent lamp. The illumination system comprises lighting device output detecting means for detecting the output from the lighting device for LED provided at the LED lamp. The LED lamp comprises protection means for shutting off input into the LED lamp when the output detected by the lighting device output detecting means is out of a predetermined range.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
