PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a kit for determining a melanoma simply and quickly, and provide a method and the like for predicting a prognosis of a melanoma patient, by carrying out a detection or a quantitative determination of a melanoma marker in a biosample.;SOLUTION: Proteins contained in blood plasma of the melanoma patient are comprehensively analyzed by using a proteomics technique, and compared with proteins in blood plasma of a sound individual, thereby identifying a protein specific to the melanoma. Since the in-blood content of a tumor marker generally tends to increase along with a progression of a cancer, the blood plasma of a patient in a stage IV where the tumor marker is considered to be highly developed is extracted, and then a comprehensive protein analysis is carried out using a two-dimensional column chromatography and a mass spectrometry. As a result, nine proteins which specifically develop in the blood plasma of the melanoma patient are successfully identified.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
