Particle beam detection and scintillators for neutron detection scintillator using a ZnS phosphor

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron-detecting scintillator showing a high detecting efficiency and dealing with a high counting rate.;SOLUTION: This neutron-detecting scintillator is prepared by mixing a ZnS phosphor with an adhesive, applying the mixture on a substrate plate by 20-100 μm thickness, drying, and then applying the ZnS phosphor and ⁶LiF which is a neutron converter, mixed with an inorganic adhesive on the ZnS phosphor applied on the substrate plate. Also, for aiming at the high counting efficiency, the ZnS phosphor realizing its short life span by adding Na or C, is used.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
