PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater structure which cancels a force of tsunami by a force of another tsunami, reduces energy of the tsunami to reduce overflow, and delays the arrival time of the tsunami, in order to minimize various damages caused by tsunami which may occur in future.;SOLUTION: A breakwater structure is constituted mainly by installing a tsunami reversal embankment 1 of which offshore side wall surface concavely curves and a swash plate 3 having a down grade with respect to the direction of travel of tsunami on an offshore side of the embankment. The tsunami directed toward a land side is made to carry out an U-turn toward the offshore side and to collide with tsunami newly overflowing the swash plate 3 and surging. Thereby, a force of the tsunami is canceled and a destructive force thereof is actively attenuated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
