PSOLUTION: The volume hologram optical recording medium has a recording layer containing at least one compound selected from compounds (A1) having a terpenoid skeleton, compounds (A2) represented by general formula (I), and cyclic or non-cyclic compounds (A3) having at least two double bonds two of which are relatively located at 1,4-position. In formula (I), each of RSP1/SPand RSP2/SPrepresents an organic group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, provided that RSP1/SPand RSP2/SPmay combine to form a cyclic structure.
