PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting furnace of optical glass in which there is no breakage by expansion of air, or the like and arising of shape sag is inhibited and thereby service life of melting furnace is improved, and to provide a method for producing optical glass using the same.;SOLUTION: Melting furnace 1 of optical glass includes: a crucible 2 which is formed by gold, platinum or an alloy thereof and holds an optical glass material in the inside to me and a reinforcing member 3 which closely holds the crucible from the outer periphery. The melting furnace 1 of optical glass is characterized by including engaging members 4a and 4b which project from the outer lateral surface of the crucible 2 and engage with or integrate with reinforcing member 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
