CO-EXISTENCE SUPPORT FOR 3GPP DEVICE AND FIXED DEVICE BEARER TRANSPORT VIA FIXED BROADBAND ACCESS NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for improved co-existence of wireless mobile devices and fixed broadband access equipment.SOLUTION: The techniques include, via a wireless interface, receiving an access request at a server and providing Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity to a user terminal on the basis of a type of the access request. The type of the access request is one of a first type in which there is no outer IP based tunnel to encapsulate an inner packet from the user equipment and a second type in which the inner packet is encapsulated using an outer IP tunneling. When the access request is of the first type, a session binding is coordinated between the fixed network and the wireless network. When the access request is of the second type, the received access request is relayed to a gateway operating in the fixed network.
