PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional DC-DC converter that implements increased output power in a step-up operation by reducing a recovery loss in the case of increasing output current to a high voltage side in the step-up operation.SOLUTION: A bidirectional DC-DC converter (13) includes a first power supply device (4), a second power supply device (12), a transformer (8), a first switching circuit (6), a second switching circuit (10) and a control section. The control section has current detection means (21) for detecting a current through at least one of both output ends of the bidirectional DC-DC converter, driving frequency calculation means (22) for calculating a driving frequency of switching elements such that the driving frequency decreases with the increase in the detected current value when a step-up operation is executed, and driving signal generation means (26) for generating a driving signal for on/off controlling the switching elements on the basis of the driving frequency calculated by the driving frequency calculation means when the step-up operation is executed.
