PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handwriting data generating system that enables a user performing a handwriting operation to easily see the state of a handwriting device 200, for example, a state that the remaining level of a battery is low, on the basis of the change of the handwriting of a character or the like which is handwritten.;SOLUTION: A handwriting data generating system 10 includes a handwriting device 200 that is used to handwrite information on a display surface on which an image is displayed, and a handwriting data generating device 50 that generates handwriting data for displaying the handwriting of the handwritten information on the display surface. The handwriting device 200 includes signal transmitting units 215 and 216 that output signals indicating the state of the handwriting device 200.
