PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mercury atomic absorption spectrometer that enhances accuracy and precision in wide dynamic range measurement, by providing flow cells of long light path length and short light path length.;SOLUTION: The mercury atomic absorption spectrometer includes a first beam splitter 3 for splitting the beam of a mercury lamp 1 into a first beam 21 and a second beam 22, a second beam splitter 4 for splitting the second beam 22 into a third beam 23 and a fourth beam 24, a first flow cell 5 through which the first beam 21 passes, a first detector 7 for detecting the intensity of the first beam, a second flow cell 6 forming a measuring gas flow channel 10 along with the first flow cell 5 to have light path length different from the light path length of the first flow cell 5 and permitting the third beam 23 and measuring gas S to pass through, a second detector 8 on a measuring side for detecting the intensity of the third beam, and a detector 9 on a reference side for detecting the intensity of the fourth beam.
