PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an animal feed composition, when feeding vegetable lactic acid bacterium, Lactobacillusplantarum (described as L. plantarum hereinafter) to animals, capable of retaining or proliferating L. plantarum in the animal intestinal canal; to provide animal mixed feed containing the animal feed composition; and to provide a method for retaining or proliferating the live bacteria of L. plantarum in the animal intestinal canal. PSOLUTION: This animal feed composition contains L. plantarum, manganese, and oligosaccharide, and the animal mixed feed contains the animal feed composition. The method for retaining or proliferating the live bacteria of L. plantarum in the animal intestinal canal includes feeding L. plantarum, manganese, and oligosaccharide to animal.
