PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a biological index effective for various purposes including the change of an emotional reaction and the evaluation of a visually induced motion sickness.SOLUTION: The feature values of a photoelectric pulse wave signal (nine values such as pulse wave amplitude, a pulse wave average value, and an acceleration pulse wave peak value) are defined as explanation variables during rest, so as to obtain a multiple regression model with a heart rate after several seconds as a target variable. In this case, the explanation variables and the target variable are restricted to a Mayer wave band by passing through a band-pass filter. Then, a mutual correlation coefficient is estimated as ρ (τ), which is the coefficient in the Mayer wave band between the estimation value of the heart rate to be obtained by inputting the featured values of the photoelectric pulse wave signal to the model and the heart rate (calculated based on FFI[foot-to-foot interval]).
