PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thorium tungsten (Th-W) alloy in which the alloy is dispersed in a particulate form with an average particle size of 0.3 μm or less, to provide a Th-W wire, a coil with improved resistance to deformation, and a cathode structure for an electron tube.SOLUTION: There are provided: the Th-W alloy in which Th and/or a Th compound is dispersed in a W matrix in the particulate form, wherein a content of Th and/or the compound is 0.5-2 wt.% and Th and/or the Th compound particle has the average particle size of 0.3 μm or less; the Th-W wire formed of the Th-W alloy; the coil formed of the Th-W wire; and the cathode structure for an electron tube having a heating filament that is supported between a pair of supporting members, wherein the heating filament is formed of the Th-W wire.
