PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the integrity of high burnup (HBU) fuel or mixed oxide (MOX) fuel to be loaded for the second cycle operation or later without spending costs or time. PSOLUTION: The method for judging the integrity of fuel rods is characterized in that the integrity of the fuel rods is judged by the direct information acquired from the results of the analysis of a reload core and indices of the integrity of the fuel rods in the burning of HBU fuel or MOX fuel in the second operation cycle or later. The indices of the integrity of the fuel rods include ones to the output and/or neutron flux of the fuel rods. The indices to the output of the fuel rods include ones to at least one among the cycle average value, the maximum value and the weighted average value. The indices to the neutron flux of the fuel rods include ones to at least one among the cycle average value, the maximum value and the weighted average value.
