PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a managing method for effectively limiting the number of decryption trials of a self-decrypting type encrypted file. PSOLUTION: In the method for managing a self-decrypting type encrypted file, a management device (10) connected to a network manages the number of decryption trials of self-decrypting type encrypted files, a communication device (30) connected to the network transmits a request of permission of decryption to the management device (10) when decrypting a self-decrypting type encrypted file, and the management device prohibits the communication device (30) from decrypting the decryption the self-decrypting type encrypted file if the number CSBTRIAL/SBof decryption trials of the self-decrypting type encrypted file for which decryption permission is requested exceeds a predetermined number of times CSBMAX/SB.
