PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multishaft combined cycle power plant which can individually operate a gas turbine, even if steam generated by waste heat of the gas turbine does not return to a reheater, and to provide an operation method thereof.;SOLUTION: In a combined cycle power plant and an operation method thereof, a high pressure turbine bypass pipe 51a is included which introduces high pressure main steam generated in a high pressure drum 22 to a condenser 15. When a steam turbine 10 is stopped, the high pressure main steam generated in the high pressure drum 22 is introduced to a condenser 15 so that an evaporation amount of the high pressure drum 22 is increased in a range not exceeding the allowable maximum evaporation amount, thus an endothermic amount of waste heat included in exhaust gas of a gas turbine 11 in a high pressure superheater 54j is increased, and further, operation load is adjusted such that a reheater 54i does not become high in temperature over heat resistant tolerance by the waste heat included in the exhaust gas after heat is absorbed by the high pressure superheater 54j, allowing the gas turbine 11 to be individually operated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
