PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for separating and recovering COof coal gasification gas dispensing with reduction of a catalyst by suppressing oxidation of the catalyst even when containing a small amount of oxygen in nitrogen gas for purge to be supplied to the apparatus for separating and recovering COto allow a start-up time of the apparatus for separating and recovering COto shorten.SOLUTION: In the apparatus for separating and recovering COof coal gasification gas, which separates and recovers COgenerated in a CO shift reaction device for converting CO in the coal gasification gas to COwith a shift catalyst, from the coal gasification gas, a purge nitrogen flow path for supplying purge nitrogen, and a hydrogen gas flow path for supplying hydrogen gas when the apparatus for separating and recovering COstarts up or shuts down, are respectively disposed; a combustion catalyzer filled with a combustion catalyst combusting oxygen contained in the purge nitrogen by reacting with the hydrogen gas supplied through the hydrogen gas flow path is provided at the upstream side of the CO shift reactor in a main line flow path, and a desulfurizer is provided at the upstream side of the combustion catalyzer in the main line flow path.
