PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion stabilizer for suspension polymerization of a styrenic polymer, with which fine styrenic polymer particles excellent in dispersion stability, having a small average particle size and having a smaller amount of coarse particles can be produced. PSOLUTION: The dispersion stabilizer comprises a resin having a structural unit represented by general formula (1), wherein: RSP1/SP, RSP2/SPand RSP3/SPare each independently H or an organic group; X is a single bond or a bond chain; and RSP4/SP, RSP5/SPand RSP6/SPare each independently H or an organic group.
